Three Dangerous Credit Repair Myths

Have you been suckered into believing the three biggest (and most dangerous) credit bureau myths? Sadly, these myths prevent many people from repairing their credit and improving their financial
lives.

In this brand new three minute video you can learn what these three dangerous myths are and how to avoid being a credit sucker. (these three minutes could be the most important three minutes in your
financial life!)

Myth Number 1: Credit Bureaus are Government Organizations. This could not be further from the truth. In fact, the credit bureaus are some of the most profitable companies in the United States. Equifax, a publicly traded organization, made $275,000,000.000 dollars last year (that’s $275 million).

Myth Number 2: It is illegal to dispute bad credit. This is also baloney. It is 100% legal to dispute questionable items on your credit report. By law credit bureaus must investigate your dispute and remove any item that is inaccurate, out-of-date, or unverifiable.

Myth Number 3: A Credit Repair Law Firm is a “Scam.” In the criminal justice system law enforcement must advise you of your right to a lawyer. However, somehow it is somehow “OK” for the credit bureaus to discourage you from hiring legal representation. Credit bureaus prefer you to accept the misery of bad credit. If you hire a law firm, then the credit bureaus must pay employees, postage, and the cost of paper and supplies to address your disputes.

Is Credit Repair a Scam? Can You Trust a Credit Repair Company?

Can You Trust Credit Repair Companies?

Many Credit Repair Companies make huge claims such as “100% clean credit report in 30 days.” Or “bankruptcy, judgments, tax liens, … no problem.” Can these claims be true?

Some of these claims can’t be met, that’s because some credit repair companies are fraudulent. However there are some legitimate companies that can take advantage of the dispute process and have successfully removed thousands of negative listings from their clients credit reports. One of these companies is Lexington Law, they have been in business for over 15 years.

It is estimated that fraudulent credit repair companies have taken more that 50 million dollars from American consumers. Thus it’s important to do some research about the company you are about to pay to fix your credit report.

Finding a reputable credit repair company is easy - just employ a bit of common sense and exercise a bit of discretion. Specifically, here are a few tips to consider:

Look at how long the company has been in business.

Look at what other people are saying about the company.

Look at their guarantees, and of course, how much money they want you to pay.

These factors will help you make a good informed decision.

Can Credit Repair Companies Guarantee Results?

No, credit repair companies can not guarantee a specific outcome! That is like a defense attorney guaranteeing their client will be found innocent. Guarantees are a red flag and is a good indication of a fraudulent credit repair company. Look for more realistic claims, such as warranties or refunds if results don’t occur. Lexington Law is a company that has been in business for over 15 years and have been successfully repairing individuals credit reports.

Credit Bureaus don’t like credit repair companies because it contradicts the purpose of the credit bureaus. The credit bureaus purpose is to make a credit report on the individuals bills and payment history and give a numerical value based on the risk of lending to this individual …. These negative listings are suppose to stay on your credit report for 7 - 10 years.

This doesn’t have to be, if you are comfortable in challenging the accuracy of negative listings you can have many of these items removed from your credit report in a much shorter time.

If you are in need of credit correction, remember to take your time in choosing a company and make sure you are comfortable with your decision. A leader and well established company that have proven results is Lexington Law.

Lexington Law has been correcting credit reports on behalf of their clients longer than any other company you will find online. They offer affordable credit correction options and a risk-free refund policy.
