How Long Does it Take to Remove a Judgement

November 18th, 2009

Jill - a subscriber - wrote in today with this question:

Question can you get a judgement off my credit report in 30 - 40 days? How long does it take to remove a judgement usually?

This is all I need to be removed at this point. i am buying a home in Dec or jan and this is holding me up.

Here is my answer:
To answer your question on how long it would take to remove a judgment, I can’t legally say it would take X number of days or Y number of days. Everybody’s case is unique I cannot legally promise you a deadline on how long it will take.

NOBODY can guarantee results when it comes to credit repair.

However, that being said, Lexington law has a no risk refund policy in place which would fit you perfectly since that is the only item needing attention.

With that being said, many people enjoy seeing results immediately after the first round of credit bureau disputes.

In any event, the good news is that you are being proactive and taking care of this before it presents a real problem and puts you in a jam down the road when you will need credit for your new home.

Most people are content to just sit and hope things disappear on their own - so congrats on being proactive!

As you know I work with Lexington Law who has not only helped me, my older brother (who had questionable collections on his reports) and my closest friends, but also many Americans with situations similar to yours.

If you like, I can arrange for a paralegal to get in touch with you. I know you have a lot of questions and it is probably quicker for them to answer them over the phone. If that sounds good, then please send me your contact number, city, state, zip and I’ll set it up. Or, we have a paralegal available now at this number: 1-866-246-7311.

(there is no pressure or obligation)

By the way, Lexington deleted 22,983 judgments last quarter for their clients.

Here is their direct line again: 1-866-246-7311.

Best,
Ben

Thank you for your continuing information. Before I call the group wgat is the going rate to have some team like this to help me remove some nrgative items?

Also I am in the midst of dealing with a collection agency of HSBC< I have sort of worked out a payment plan with them, I haven’t conceded to the yet because I am un happy with teir terms. You see I asked them if I set up this payment plan could they report to the credit agencies that the account would be moved from collection status to a pay status?

The person told me no that they could only report the account as paid in fuldd or settled. In order to pay the account in full it would take me approimately 41/2 years give or take a few months and settling is out at this moment because I don’t have the funds. HSBC is a huge company and I know in my heart of hearts that they can change terms if they want to.

I can’t see paying this bill and not getting compensated for my efforts. Is there anything I can do? If I don’t start paying them then there is a possibility of things getting worse if they take me to court then my credit is truly screwed because I will have a judgemnt on my record. Thanks, I wait to hear from you soon

    Hi Paula -

Thanks for the note and the info. HSBC is definitely playing hard ball here. They can - as you know- report anything they like to the bureaus. You may consider debt validation.

My brother had Lexington file debt validation against some collection agencies and they agreed to delete the items entirely from the bureaus reports.

The Lexington direct line is: 1-866-246-7311. Let me know if you need anything else.
