Remove a Judgement
December 16th, 2009
Do you have a judgement on your credit reports?
If so, you already know that a judgement is an absolute terror and wreaks havoc on your credit history and score. No banker with half a brain these days will approve you with a judgement on your credit report. It literally SCREAMS: “DEADBEAT!” and is a major red alert for lenders.
Here’s more bad news: A judgement may remain on your credit for 10-12 years! This information is even worse than normal derogatory information because of its staying power. That is, unless you do something to remove it. The good news is that you can legally dispute any questionable judgment…and you should!
Here are just a few legitimate reasons to dispute a judgement: (a) balance is wrong (2) item is out of date (3) item is not yours (4) item has been paid (5) you were only an authorized user on the original account (6) statute of limitations has expired (7) status is incorrect (8) lawsuit is still pending.
If you enjoy spending your next 10-12 years in credit score prison because of a judgment, that’s ok. If you’d prefer to remove the bad credit information and get back on track, here are three simple sure-fire methods to dispute any judgment:
